This Irish Coast tour takes you down through all the highlights and hidden beauties of the Wild Atlantic Way, delving inland and exploring the lesser-known parts of South West Ireland, building up a patchwork of experiences that will live long in your memory.

Discover the southwest with one of our friendly guides, who will take you in luxury transport right down the Irish coast. Tour guides don’t come much more personal and while the itinerary is planned to get the most out of the area, you can choose to discover the areas that interest you most, spending more time wherever takes your fancy.  Your personal guide is there to make sure that you get everything you dreamed of out of your trip to The West Ireland.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Connemara

Our 8 day Wild Atlantic Way Sample itinerary can start from Dublin/Shannon/Galway

Time:  8hrs

Overnight: Galway

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Suggested itinerary:

On this day tour we will visit Clifden and the beautiful lakes of Connemara. We also drive the fantastic Sky Road. This is a loop drive of the very tip of the coast with some fantastic views. We will also visit Kylemore Abbey and sheep dog trails in Joyce country before returning to Galway for overnight stay. Galway is renowned for it pubs restaurants and traditional music.

Day 2: Cliffs of Moher & Burren

Time:  8hrs

Overnight: Dingle

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Suggested itinerary:

Leaving your accommodation in Galway we will travel south along the Atlantic Coastline. This private day tour passes through small picturesque quaint villages and towns. Our first stop is Dunguaire Castle, a 16th century castle just outside the village of Kinvara which is renowned for the Galway hooker boats. From here our tour travels into the centre of The Burren paradise, a remarkable bare limestone area with its many combinations of unusual factors such as its unique geology, flora and fauna.

We will stop in the village of Doolin for some lunch. After lunch we will arrive at the famous Cliffs Of Moher. They are 700 feet above sea level and 8 km long, giving superb views of the Clare coastline, Connemara Mountains and the Aran Islands. After a very enjoyable day your driver will transfer you to your accommodation in Dingle for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Dingle Peninsula & Slea Head Drive

Time:  7hrs

Overnight: Dingle

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Suggested itinerary:

Departure from your accommodation in Dingle at 9:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m. This private tour is a very enjoyable tour stopping at Eask Tower, Ventry Village, Dunbeg Fort, Beehive Huts, Coumeenole Beach, magnificent views of the Blasket Islands, The Blasket Island’s Heritage Center, shopping at Louis Mulcathy’s Pottery, Clogher, Lunch in Bally Ferriter village, Gallarus Oratory, Cuas a’ Bhodaigh, The Conor Pass and a visit to Seán Daly of Dingle Crystal (when available) to watch a demonstration of his craftsmanship. This tour provides amazing viewing points and endless photo stops of the Dingle Peninsula.

Day 4: Ring of Kerry & Skellig Ring

Time:  8hrs

Overnight: Killarney

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Suggested itinerary:

A full day private tour of the famous Ring of Kerry. One of Ireland’s most famous drives, reaching breathtakingly beautiful places no bus tour can reach! Todays tour will visit Killorglin, Caherciveen, Valentia Island travelling to the best viewing point of the Skellig Islands, Lunch in Portmagee, Sneem town & Waterville. Before heading to Killarney for an overnight stay we will stop off at Ladies view overlooking the lakes of Killarney. This day tour provides amazing viewing points, endless photo stops and all the Irish history and folklore you could wish for, all while traveling in luxury.

Day 5: Killarney & Kenmare

 

Overnight: Killarney

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Suggested itinerary:

On today’s tour, we will visit Killarney town, the famous Ross Castle, Muckross House & Gardens where you can choose to take a traditional jaunting car ride to Torc Waterfall. We will also visit Molls Gap & Kenmare town for lunch. You can also choose to take a boat trip (optional) on the Lakes of Killarney or take a stroll through Killarney National Park. This tour also provides amazing viewing points and endless photo stops of Killarney.

Day 6: Blarney Castle & Kinsale

 

Overnight: Kinsale

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Suggested itinerary:

On today’s tour your first destination will be the Famous Blarney Castle and Stone. We will then head to Kinsale in west Cork. On arrival in Kinsale we will have a light lunch. After a short lunch, your Dingle Slea Head Tours driver guide will meet and will take you on a tour of Kinsale, taking in its many attractions such as Kinsale’s Charles Fort with its spectacular views overlooking Kinsale town. After your last days touring, you can relax and enjoy dinner at one of Kinsale’s outstanding restaurants.

Day 7: Cobh & East Cork

 

Overnight: Kinsale

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Suggested itinerary:

After a full Irish breakfast your driver will take you from Kinsale to enjoy a day tour of east Cork. Our first visit will be to Cobh, formally known as Queenstown (1850 until 1920) and from where most Irish emigrants departed for America and elsewhere in the world. Tourist attractions will focus on the immense maritime and emigration legacy of the town – the Queenstown Story Heritage Centre, the Titanic Experience, the Titanic Trail walking tour, Cobh Museum. Having enjoyed the beautiful town of Cobh, you will journey to the lovely sea side town of Youghal to view its historic buildings and monuments within its ancient town walls. You will enjoy a wholesome lunch before departing to Midleton and a tour of the Old Midleton Distillery, home of the worlds famous Jameson Irish Whiskey. Here, you will also enjoy a wonderful whiskey tasting experience. Our driver will then take you back to Kinsale for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8:Rock of Cashel & Bunratty Castle

Time:  8hrs

Overnight: Ennis/Dublin

Meeting location: At your chosen Accommodation

Leaving Kinsale your tour will take you to the Rock of Cashel in Co Tipperary. The Rock of Cashel is an ancient royal site of the Kings of Munster in the 4th or 5th centuries. We then will drive to the picturesque village of Adare for lunch before finishing off your 8 day Wild Atlantic Wat tour at Bunratty Castle near Shannon Airport for onward travel the following day. Please note we can also finish this extended tour in Dublin if you wish.
